Thomas Philip Tourville

On September 20, 2013, surrounded by family and friends, Tom Tourville passed peacefully into rest. The eldest of three children, Thomas Philip Tourville was born in San Jose, California on June 16, 1956, to Philip and Virginia Thomas Tourville.

As a young adult, he moved to Hays, Kansas, where he studied communications. He eventually moved to Salem, Oregon, where his parents and siblings had moved. It was in Salem, on July 10, 2008, that he married the love of his life, Lazana (Lisa) Iveans.

Tom's favorite activities involved one of two things: Helping animals or helping people. He loved both with all his heart.

A kind, gentle, and generous man, Tom would help and give without question, pause, or expectation. He 'paid it forward' over and over and over. It a star is earned for each person one helps, then Tom filled the heavens.

Tom was a loving and devoted husband, a loving son and brother, and a wonderful uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Preceded in death by his father Philip Henry Tourville, Tom is survived by his wife Lazana, his mother Virginia Tourville, siblings, Shana Tourville and James Tourville, as well as four nephews, and six great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 12, at East Salem Seventh Day Adventist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
